PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
A PSA, also known as a public service announcement, is a free announcement which promotes programs, activities, or services of non-profit organizations or federal, state, and local government serving community interests.
PSAs came into being with the entry of the United States into World War II. Radio broadcasters and advertising
agencies offered their skills and facilities toward the war effort and established the War Advertising Council
which became the official homefront arm of the Office of War Information. Print, outdoor advertising
and especially radio became the carriers of such messages as "Loose lips sink ships," "Keep 'em Rolling" and a variety of announcements encouraging the purchase of War Bonds.
By the end of the war, the practice of volunteering free air time had become institutionalized and many public
service campaigns had become a familiar part of daily life.
We continue this practice to this day and are always available to help you promote upcoming events, fundraisers, or informational messages for your local non-profit or government agency.
Send us the "Who, What, When, Where & Why" along with your contact information and we will assist you in
disseminating your message.
In addition to airing :10, :15, :30 and even :60 second announcements, we have a public affairs program on Sunday mornings at 8:00 am that focuses on local issues for each of our station's cities of license. We also have an online section devoted entirely to promoting upcoming events...
Our local talk and issues-oriented programming lends itself well to dissemination of local issues and events.
Once we're aware of your message and your needs, we can decide how best to assist you.
