Police are investigating after a person was found dead on Stanley Street in New Britain yesterday morning. He was identified as 25 year old Ronald Nelson of Stratford. Officers say that there was no sign of trauma. The cause and manner of death is being determined.
A Rocky Hill man was arrested earlier this week for allegedly slashing tires. Officers say that 19 year old Gavin Huddleston was taken into custody on an active warrant in connection to a February 18th incident when he damaged four tires on a vehicle.
A bill aimed at helping residents affected by flooding in the North End of Hartford has been stalled. Lawmakers say that they are trying to figure out if they will amend the bill or find a different way to get residents help. Activists say thousands have been dealing with basement floods and septic overflow issues for decades.
State officials have approved the state’s first cannabis delivery service. The company Green Coach Delivery announced yesterday that they will be delivering cannabis to medical and recreational users in Hartford County later this month. They plan to expand the service throughout the state.
Bloomfield firefighters safely rescued a dog on Wednesday afternoon who had become trapped inside a pipe on Tunxis Avenue. Officials say that the dog had crawled 40-50 feet inside a 200-foot-long culvert pipe. The Bloomfield Public works Department assisted in the rescue.
Yesterday the Connecticut House of Representatives passed a bill that would offer 14 days of early voting next year. It was passed by a 107-35 vote. The bill is expected to be passed in the Senate and signed by Governor Ned Lamont.
