Police arrested an Enfield man after a stabbing on Spring Street in Enfield yesterday. Police learned of the incident after being called to Town Hall for the report of a heavily bleeding man. 32 year old Timothy Lindsay was taken into custody and held on a $750,000 bond.
The organizers of the Hartford Marathon are proposing changes to the path the event takes for safety reasons. The proposal includes replacing some of the Route along Riverside park with a run on Penn Drive into West Hartford. The changes have not been certified and awaiting permits.
Hartford Police are enforcing a new checkpoint that may help reduce the number of OUI incidents. Officers say that they will begin an enforcement checkpoint this Thursday, May 18th, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the area of 72 Vine Street.
Yesterday in Hartford Governor Ned Lamont and other State leaders announced initiatives in an attempt to improve teacher recruitment. Officials say that they will support the creation of a new teacher Registered Apprenticeship Program as well as expand other programs.
The former CEO of the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Corporation was sentenced yesterday to a year in prison for misusing company funds. 62 year old Drew Rankin was one of many who organized lavish trips using company money. Other former Board of Director members have been charged as well.
