Thirteen people were brought to the hospital after an apartment fire in Hartford Saturday night. Crews were called to 77 Evergreen Avenue and battled  heavy flames on the third and fourth floor of the building. Several people were rescued from the building by firefighters. Four of the thirteen hospitalized are listed in critical condition.

 
A teenager was brought to the hospital after being struck by a car in Hartford yesterday morning. Crews were called to the intersection of Chandler and Coolidge Streets. The teenage male was brought to the children’s hospital with minor injuries. The driver remained at the scene. 
 

A Hartford man was arrested last week after being charged with receiving child pornography. Officers searched the home of 32 year old Jonathan Williams and found explicit content on his laptop. He is facing a sentence of 15-40 years in prison if convicted.
Police have identified the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle in Torrington on Friday morning. Officers say that Shawn Kiefer from Torrington died from injuries sustained after being hit by a car on State Road 800. The crash remains under investigation.
 

An East Hartford man was arrested after allegedly injuring a coworker with a box cutter during a fight on Friday. 26 year old Joshua Brown was working at a Tolland Turnpike warehouse when he cut another person’s face. He was taken into custody at his home and is being held on a $500,000 bond. 
 

The Connecticut Senate voted 24-11 early Saturday to pass updated gun laws. The bill, proposed by Governor Ned Lamont would ban the open carry of firearms, and strengthen rules for gun storage and reporting stolen weapons. He is expected to sign the bill into law.
