The 30 year old man who allegedly attacked State Rep. Maryam Khan outside of a Muslim gathering at the XL Center Wednesday was in court yesterday. Andrey Desmond was charged in the incident and officials say he has a multi-state criminal record dating back 10 years. He was held on a $250,000 bond.
The Hartford Public Library will receive a $1.7 million in funding to help repair its downtown location. The site has been closed ever since a pipe burst in late December. Another $1.5 million for the project is expected to be announced today.
Yesterday Governor Ned Lamont, along with Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, unveiled a 170-foot mural on The Millennium apartment building on Morgan Street. This makes it the largest mural in New England. It faces Interstate 84 West and depicts 10-year-old Sam Gonzalez, who lives in East Hartford, releasing fireflies from a glass jar.

Air conditions are expected to worsen in Connecticut today due to air pollution caused by wildfires in Canada. Currently, the air quality index is in the moderate range. According to environmental officials, today air is expected to move into an unhealthy range.
