
Police in Hartford are investigating after two people were shot on Homestead Avenue on Saturday. Officers were called to the area by a ShotSpotter activation and later found two men had arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. Both are in stable condition.
One man was injured after he accidentally shot himself in a Stop & Shop parking lot on Broad Street in Manchester on Saturday. Officers say the 23 year old man accidentally discharged the firearm in the store before transporting himself to the hospital. It is unclear if he is facing charges at this time.
Two people were injured after an incident involving farm equipment on West Stafford Road in Stafford on Saturday. A Somers man was attempting to tow a “truck axle” when it flipped backwards striking him in the head and pinning a female pedestrian. Bystanders lifted the truck axle off of the woman. She suffered minor injuries. The man was brought to the hospital by LifeStar helicopter with serious injuries.
The Hartford Bonanza will now take place Saturday July 8th. Officials say that the event was supposed to take yesterday but was postponed due to weather.
11 ducking’s were rescued from storm grates in Rocky Hill on Saturday. The town’s fire department and Animal Control officers responded to Cromwell Avenue and successfully rescued nine ducklings from one storm grate and two from another. All 11 were reunited with their mother.
