NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed safety DeShon Elliott to a two-year, $12.5-million contract extension.

Elliott’s new deal includes $9.21 million guaranteed, and runs through the 2027 season. The six-year veteran signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Steelers last off-season.

Elliott, 28, began his career with the Baltimore Ravens, followed by stints with the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins. He was entering the final season of his current two-year pact after signing with Pittsburgh prior to the 2024 campaign. He totaled a career-high 108 combined tackles, six passes defensed, four tackles for a loss, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and an interception over 15 appearances last season.

The Steelers are also still in negotiations with star pass-rusher T.J. Watt, who skipped Pittsburgh’s mandatory minicamp last week. Watt is entering the final year of a four-year, $112-million extension he signed in 2021.
