Cleveland Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins, 21, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida over the weekend on charges of domestic violence.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9 a.m. on Saturday, Fort Lauderdale officers responded to West Cypress Creek Road in response to a delayed battery. Officers spoke with the victim, and the preliminary investigation revealed a battery had occurred.  Fort Lauderdale police said they made contact with Judkins and placed him into custody; he is being held at the Broward Sheriff’s Office Jail. (per ABC affiliate station News 5 Cleveland.).

Further specifics of the incident are not yet known. The Browns said in a statement, via the Akron Beacon Journal’s Chris Easterling, that they are “aware and gathering information.” He was still being held in the Broward County main jail as of early Sunday afternoon, with his bond listed at $2,500, according to his inmate log.

An NFL spokesperson said in a statement obtained by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero that “We are aware of the matter, but will decline further comment.”

The Browns selected Judkins in the second round of the NFL Draft earlier this spring out of Ohio State, where he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship a few months prior. Judkins scored three touchdowns in their title game win over Notre Dame. He transferred to Ohio State from Ole Miss ahead of the 2024 season, and he led the team with 1,060 rushing yards.

The Browns rookie players are expected to report for training camp Friday. Judkins is the only member of the team’s rookie class who has yet to sign his contract, and is one of 30 second-round picks from this past draft who’s yet to sign, reportedly over guaranteed money (via YahooSports).
