* The New York Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-95 in Game 5 of the playoffs, and will now advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals. Jalen Brunson led New York in scoring with 23 points, while Knicks forward Julius Randle exited the game late in the first half with a sprained left ankle and didn’t return. Before leaving, Randle recorded 13 points, four rebounds and six assists. The Knicks earned their first playoff series win since the 2012-13 season.

* The Miami Heat rallied in overtime to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series with a score of 128-126, and will now advance to the conference semifinals. The Heat’s Jimmy Butler scored 42 points to complete an upset of the top-seeded Bucks.

The eight-seeded Heat now advance to the second-round series to meet the fifth-seeded New York Knicks. Game 1 of the conference semifinals begins on Sunday, April 30th at 1 p.m. in New York.

* The Memphis Grizzlies beat the LA Lakers 116-99 to avoid elimination and force a Game 6 matchup, led by Grizzlies Desmond Bane scoring 33 points. Los Angeles leads the series 3-2; and Memphis will need two more wins to become just the 14th team in NBA history to win a series after trailing 3-1.

The series heads back to Los Angeles for Game 6, which is set for 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

* The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings 123-116 on the road in Game 5 Wednesday night, to take a 3-2 series lead. The Kings led 36-33 after the first quarter, but the Warriors pushed back, outscoring Sacramento 27-20 in the second to lead 60-56 at halftime. The Warriors Steph Curry led Golden State in scoring with 31 points on 12-of-25 shooting from the floor.

Game 6 is Friday at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif. on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
