Police have identified the New Britain man who died after an accident on I-84 West in Hartford yesterday. Officers say 23 year old Luis Colon lost control of his car and crashed into a concrete barrier near the Exit 41 off ramp. He was pronounced dead at the scene.


Two people died after a car crash on Merrow Road in Tollan on Saturday. Officers say 66 year old Amanda Bowen was driving when her car crossed the double yellow line and collided head on with a car driven by 64 year old Bryan Flint. Both drivers died from their injuries. Two children traveling with Flint were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A State Police Cruiser was side-swiped by a sedan on I-91 in Hartford Saturday morning. Officers say that the cruiser was struck near exit 27 and the driver of the vehicle stopped. The driver of the sedan and the passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver was also charged with reckless endangerment. 


Newington police arrested a Georgia man for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor for several years. Officers say that 41 year old Miguel Angel Grados was arrested in Georgia last month. He was a former resident of Newington and is accused of assaulting the 7 year old victim in 2011.


Governor Ned Lamont announced that the U.S. and state flags will fly at half-staff in Connecticut until Thursday to honor the victims of the mass shooting in Allen, Texas. Eight people were killed, and seven wounded, Saturday when a gunman opened fire on shoppers at an outlet mall.
