
One person is in critical condition after being stabbed on Babcock Street in Hartford yesterday. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of critical injuries, where he remains unstable. Officers say that a person of interest has been taken into custody.
Yesterday Governor Ned Lamont signed into law new gun laws. The legislation, known as House Bill 6667, includes banning openly carrying firearms. The bill was introduced by the governor at the start of the 2023 legislative session and developed in part with bipartisan state lawmakers.
Yesterday the Connecticut Senate passed a two-year, $51 billion state budget hours after the House overwhelmingly passed the same legislation The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 35-1. The new budget, expected to be signed into law by Lamont, would take effect on July 1st.
