
Police say that illegal fireworks may have started the blaze that displaced twelve people from a Manchaster apartment building late Sunday night. Crews found heavy fire upon arrival of the Oakland Street building and had to open a hole in the roof for ventilation. No injuries were reported.
Three juveniles were arrested after allegedly trying to steal about $8,000 in Jewelry from the Macy’s inside the Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester on Saturday. Officers say that three masked individuals went to the jewelry displays and filled their backpacks with items. The three were taken into custody a short time later and are facing multiple charges.

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection said that there was about $23 million in cannabis sales in the State last month. Officials say about half the money came from adult use sales and the other from the medical marijuana market. Officials say this was an increase from last month.
Governor Lamont signed the state budget yesterday after the House of Representatives and Senate approved the proposal last week. The two year $51 billion includes the first income tax reduction since 1996. It also increases funding for schools and pay for those who are incarcerated. The budget goes into effect July 1st.
