Police in Hartford have arrested a man accused of defacing a Black Lives Matter mural in Hartford. Officers say that 36 year old Scott Franklin was in court yesterday after allegedly vandalizing the mural on Trinity Street on June 11th with a swastika.
A Manchester man has been arrested for allegedly threatening Governor Ned Lamont and Senator Chris Murphy. 36 year old Sean Richard Palla was arrested Wednesday and charged with second degree harassment. Officials say in 2022 Palla used Instagram to post the threats and tagged the accounts of Lamont and Murphy.
President Joe Biden is expected to be in Connecticut today to join a gun safety summit. The summit will be held at the University of Hartford and extra security in the area will be in place. It will feature panel discussions on federal gun safety legislation.
The Connecticut man who was awaiting trial in the death of his mother, Linda Carman, has died. Officials say 29 year old Nathan Carmen was found dead in his New Hampshire jail cell yesterday morning. Attorneys say Carman left a note in his cell addressed to them. His death is not considered suspicious at this time.
