A woman has been indicted by a grand jury after allegedly attempting to smuggle 12 kilograms of cocaine into Connecticut through Bradley International Airport. Officers say Karina Cintron Santiago of Puerto Rico attempted her luggage missing after arriving at the Airport on June 4th. Authorities had checked her luggage when she boarded the flight and allegedly found the drugs.
Bristol police are looking to identify a person who violently attacked a person riding a CT Transit bus last month. Officers say that the attack happened May 18th at a North Main Street bus stop when the driver was temporarily outside the bus which left the victim and suspect alone. The woman refused treatment at the time of the attack.
Yesterday Governor Ned Lamont’s office announced that Connecticut will use $6 million of an ongoing settlement from Volkswagen to install 54 electric vehicle charging stations across the state. About $1.8 million will be used at government sites, $3.3 million will be used for municipal projects and $1 million will fund public sites.
Yesterday Governor Ned Lamont signed new healthcare affordability legislation into law. The law, Public Act 23-171, includes a number of measures aimed including allowing residents to get a drug discount card that will provide discounts of up to 20-80 percent. These cards will be free to all Connecticut residents.
