The Carolina Panthers and running back Chuba Hubbard have agreed on a contract extension worth a reported $33.2 million over four years.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport: sources said that ‘the #Panthers have locked in one of their young stars, agreeing to terms with RB Chuba Hubbard on 4-year, $33.2M contract extension. He gets a max value of $37.2M with $15M in new fully guaranteed money. 💰 💰 💰’

Panthers general manager Dan Morgan said on Wednesday that the two sides were heading in the direction of an agreement, stating at the time: “Not going to divulge that plan right now, but we’re definitely working towards some stuff right now that we’re excited about.”

Hubbard, a 2021 fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma State, has missed only two games through his career, and was set to become a free agent after the 2024 season. The 25-year-old running back is fifth in the NFL with 665 rushing yards and tied for fifth with five touchdowns in nine game this season, with 26 receptions for 108 yards, and one touchdown (the six total touchdowns matches his career high).

The Panthers (2-7) will face the New York Giants at 9:30 a.m. EST Sunday at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
